Wikis are an excellent way for students to collaborate together. Not only can students create a classroom website for other students to visit, they can also create a website on a certain topic and further discuss it. This can lead to having students be creative and use their imagination while enhanciing their learning.
I checked out a couple of wikis and one of the websites that stood out was
http://mrsibrahim.wikispaces.com/. It is a classroom website where each student had their own link and from the looks of it, the students created their own web page. Is a very good way to motivate kids to write about themselves and have their writing published for others to see.
I think it would be a good idea to have a wiki for each team at our campus. Since we plan together, we can share our book titles, websites, or any other type of information that we discuss and later share the files/documents. As a campus, maybe all teachers can join wiki and have wikispace be a campus newsletter (of some sort) with all the information and events taking place in the future. Wikispaces may also be a good resource for having how to's. (For example, instead of giving us a paper copy of how to upload an app on the itouch, maybe we can have this document saved and be easily access by anyone who needs it)

  1. Yes, wikis are very handy to have when sharing information with a larger group of people. It will take time for people to get into the habit of checking it for updates. (I am not sure if it would work in an RSS feed.) I encourage you to set one up for your team or school! Thanks for sharing the classroom link, too.

  2. Yuri, I like your idea of using wiki to share "how to" information, especially about technology and the i Pod Touch. What if all PreK teachers in the district shared a wiki so we could exchange information and great ideas? Also, thanks for sharing the link. I plan to check it out when I have more time. p. wilkinson
